It is so hard to pick one single memory from the trips that we have taken to talk about... We love the whole process. We used a travel agent to plan our honeymoon but afterwards we realized that we could plan everything. On each of our following trips Mark, Brad and I would get together and decide where to go, we would pick out hotels and plan our rail and airline travel. There isn't too much that is better than hopping from train to train across Europe. OK, there may have been a few times that it was more like sprinting from train to train considering the fact that I was traveling with two people who are habitually late.
A few of my favorite memories from our trips include walking over the canals in Amsterdam at night with all the lights flickering on the water, finally getting to see the Rose windows in the Cathedral at Chartres, peering over the top of St. Peters Square in Rome, wandering the streets of Brugge, Belgium (oh, and their restaurants... yum), getting in the "cab" in Paris where we ended up having to navigate for the driver because he was just some random guy trying to make an extra buck, stumbling upon all of the fountains around Rome, riding on the London eye and doing all of our London sight-seeing at night. For that matter, one of our most spell-binding experiences in London was going to The Lion King showing on their broadway. That was such an awesome night.
I am so thankful for the many travel experiences we have had over the years. We can't wait until Milo is old enough to go on these types of trips. It is really important to us that we expose him to other cultures and show him just what an adventure travel can be.
