In Milo's Words

I want to capture the sweet innocence of Milo right now, frame it and put it on the wall. I wonder if little ones are always so aware of their environment and we realize it only when they have the vocabulary to express it or if awareness comes alongside the vocabulary. Regardless, Milo truly sees his world now and talks about it more and more. Some of the cutest things he has said in the last few days are:
  • (after knocking the soap bottle into the bath) "You OK soap? You OK?"
  • (following a mini-panic attack that bubbles had touched his skin in the bath and while getting toweled off) "I don't see bubbles. Bubbles go home?"
  • (after seeing the gorgeous red massively lighted trees at the Galleria the other night) "I see yellow trees?" (and then later, after I drove by some beautiful massively lighted yellow trees at the Shops at Legacy) "I see green trees? I see blue trees?"
  • (during the Curious George episode where George is building a tree for a pigeon and the pigeon falls off the tree, burying his head in my chest) "I can't find chicken! I can't find chicken!"

We are now getting to see those little thoughts in his head and I love the simple sweetness of his mind. What a joy to see the person that he is becoming.
