OK, scratch that last post... or at least one part of that last post. There definitely were not two nice women at the wreck. One of those women was a liar masquerading as a nice woman. Oddly, she told my insurance company the truth (that she hit the first car and then ricocheted off them to hit me); however, she told her insurance company that she and I were both merging into the same lane (liar! liar!) and that she bumped me which caused her to then hit the other car ultimately causing them both considerable damage.
I don't know if she was hoping her ruse would make me partially responsible for the damage but all it succeeded in doing was ensuring that her insurance company would only cover 1/2 of my claim. Thankfully I have minimal damage which doesn't look like it will even meet the deductible but still! It sucks to come out of pocket at all for her mistake and now for her LIE! I am generally a "live and let lie" kind of person (you know, what goes around comes around) but I am really tempted to call her. I probably would too if I could think of what to say.
On a related note, for so many reasons I think one of the worst jobs in the world would have to be insurance adjuster. You know that people are lying to you all day and you rarely have good news (because people lie!).
