More Birthday Fun

Whew! This is the 4th and final post about Milo's 1st birthday. You know it was big fun when it takes almost a whole week to document the occasion! Even though everyone was coming to to help us celebrate Milo's big day over the weekend, Mark and I wanted to do something special on Thursday to acknowledge our baby's actual birthday. Mark took the afternoon off and picked up Milo so they could spend the rest of the day together. They went out shopping for soccer jerseys and stopped by to pick up some Sprinkles cupcakes while they were out. When I got home we took him to eat at Golden Coral. I realize he can't talk yet but we are pretty sure it is his favorite place. They have so many great things he can eat and the beauty of it is we can give him just little bits of everything - veggies, meatloaf, yummy rolls, etc.

After dinner Milo opened his birthday presents from Grandma Cheri, Great-Grandma Pat and Great-Grandpa Doc and then we let him dig into one of the Sprinkles cupcakes. He did not make quite as big a mess as he did at his birthday party but he still seemed to enjoy his treat.

Thank you Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa for my cool Spiderman cap!

Mmmm... Red Velvet Cake... Milo pretty much just crammed half the cupcake into his mouth so he had lots of residual cake stuck on his face. He kept poking his little tongue out trying to get the crumbs off.

This is our video monitor (the best money we ever spent) and if you look closely you can see our fat and happy little birthday boy right after he has crashed out for the night.

Fortunately, Mark and I were able to take Friday off to spend some extra time with Milo and to do some shopping in preparation for the birthday party. Dad, Grandma Dottie, Sarah and the boys all got in around 5:00 or so Friday evening which was perfect. The next morning we went down to the park by our house to play with the boys. Milo is definitely still getting the hang of slides. He likes them at the bottom - he is just not too sure about them at the top!

We saw this a lot this weekend. I think I have mentioned his tendency to "flirt" lately, right? It generally involves him putting his head down on the nearest object and peaking at you with one eye. Well, in several instances this weekend, the nearest object happened to be the floor.

Doesn't he look like such a big boy in this picture? He seems so tall to me here. His legs just go on and on...
Ah, cousinly love... This picture seriously cracks me up! Despite the look on Milo's face, he had such a great time with his cousins this weekend. He loved watching them and following them around and they both were really good with him.

Finally, these last photos are just some of the friends and family that helped us celebrate at Milo's big 1st birthday party.

Crystal and Milo's friend Landon. Landon is 8 months old and is such a little cutie-pie!

And this is Cameron, the first birthday boy from a few weeks ago and Milo's friend next door.

The infamous NiNi... I think Milo was initially a little surprised to see her at our house since he only ever sees her at her house. We were all so glad that she came out to help us celebrate.

Gracie, Cameron's big sister is above and below you have our sweet Brooks enjoying his cake immensely.

We truly could not have asked for a better weekend celebrating Milo's first whole year of life. Thanks again to all of you that came by for the party and also to all of you that sent out birthday love and wishes to our little boy!
