We had Milo's 9-month check-up today. Our sweet boy is growing, growing, growing (but is slowing down a bit). He weighs 22 pounds 15 ounces which puts him in the 70th percentile for weight. Of course, at 30 1/4 inches he is still in the 95th percentile for height. He is very healthy overall. The craziest thing to me was that the physician's assistant was talking about his next appointment which will be his 12-month appointment. How is this possible? How is my little tiny baby going to be 12 months old in the blink of an eye?
During the appointment I did ask the PA about Milo's pacifier use. Milo LOVES his pacifier. He would take it all the time if we would let him. Basically, she said to keep it out of sight and to only use it during naps, at night or when he is really sad. I would definitely like to start phasing the binky out now because I know it is only going to get more difficult as he gets older.
I have been meaning to mention one recent development. Milo has officially developed separation anxiety. He cries any time Mark, Lanita or I leave the room - even if one of the other of us is still there. He just does not like to be left alone. Mark and I will often try to distract him and then sneak out without him seeing but it does not usually work.
Well, I need to go cuddle the little one. He has been a little grouchy since we got home. Maybe it is the shot he got at the doctor. If only he could talk and tell me what is wrong... I suppose that is coming soon enough though, hmm?
