Mommy's Funny

I gave Milo a bath last night to make sure he smells extra sweet today since he is going to come to the office this afternoon to visit for a little while. (Of course, I don't usually have a reason to bathe him... He gets lots of baths! I promise!) Anyway, after his bath I was putting his lotion on and I was tickling his tummy with a little puppy rattle. He was getting so excited ~ kicking his arms and legs ~ and it just looked like he was working up to a smile. All of a sudden, he not only smiled at me but giggled. It was the cutest thing I have ever heard!

Of course my response was "Honey, did you hear that?" Mark and I descended upon him immediately to try and get him to do it again and we were successful a couple of times. The sweetest thing was that Milo still has to work a little bit to get those smiles out. You could just see him thinking about what he was doing and then all of a sudden he would succeed and we would all be rewarded with that beautiful smile and precious little laugh. It is amazing how such a small thing can become the most important achievement in the world! I went to sleep last night with such joy in my heart just because I was able to make my little boy happy.
