He has so many little quirky toddler habits that I adore. He is talking in phrases now which constantly leaves both me and Mark shaking our heads in wonder. He has a fascination with socks at the moment and he demands to wear them almost all the time (yes, even in the 100 degree heat). We play outside every night which means that we have to clean up after the dog every day. Milo follows me around and helps point out the "poops" so that I don't miss anything. Speaking of poor Scratch (the dog), Milo has been giving her lots more attention lately - most of which she tolerates well. Last night he started imitating Mark by telling her to "Go out!," "Sit!," "Stay!." He even had the hand movements down.
He loves to sing and has a small repertoire of songs that he likes. You know, the usual fare... the ABC song, Itsy-Bitsy Spider, Row, Row, Row Your Boat, etc. However, when we are listening to electronic music (which is often instrumental) Milo will bust out in "freestyle" by singing out the names of numbers and letters to the beat of the music.
He loves cheese, grapes and will double-fist cram massive amounts of strawberries into his mouth. He is beginning to test the world around him too. He will grab almost anything and half-state, half-question, "Mine?" He reaches out and says, "See that?" so that we will hand over anything he finds interesting. He frequently repeats "Mommy... Daddy... Mommy... Daddy..." and we always remind him that "Milo" fits in that roll call too.
On a funny side note, after I took this video last night I let Milo watch it (which he then wanted to do over and over). He would be pretty smiley until the end when he would repeatedly get a little scowl on his face. Cutie-pie!
Finally, I am not as good at the "I was there" shot as Mark - I guess my arm is not as long. Despite that, here is one more installment of the "self" portrait series with my sweet boy. Look at those beautiful brown eyes!
