Milo

Our sweet boy is changing every day. He has had some seriously grouchy mood swings lately. I think it is a combination of things. I think he has gotten to that age where he knows what he wants to communicate but he doesn't know how to communicate. Also, he is teething. He still only has 4 teeth; however, he actually let me feel around his mouth last night and one of his back teeth is beginning to break through. There are also a few other areas on his gums that are really mushy so he probably has some activity there too.

His frustration is broken up by periods of precious happiness. He smiles and laughs and runs around like a little crazy man. He is fairly stranger shy but he will definitely still "make eyes" at any cute waitress or young girl sitting a few tables over. He is not talking yet but we often catch him humming the ABC song when playing by himself or looking out the window in the car. He loves music in general. He becomes mesmerized by the television when a commercial comes on with a song he likes. I have to say, he has pretty good musical taste too! He LOVES his binky and would walk around with it all day if we let him (lately we probably let him have it too much in an attempt to counteract the grouchies). He is in to stuffed animals right now - his favorite being his giraffe who I have creatively named Gaffie (to go along with "Frankie" his little Frankenstein doll and "Fluffy Chick" his big stuffed chicken.) He carries Gaffie around by its tail and hugs it around the neck when he sleeps.

His favorite thing right now is to be outside followed by the close second of running around on the couch. He loves to feed the dogs from his highchair which they love in return. My favorite? He has finally gotten into his books. His favorites are Tails, some little book with babies in it... you would think I would know since I read it every night, and Fluffy Chick (Yes, it is a book. See? I am even less creative in stuffed animal naming than you originally thought.) I let him pick out his two books each night and he actually does it. I am still adjusting to the fact that Milo has his own opinions.

In short, my baby is becoming more of a little boy with each passing day. I love watching his personality emerge and seeing him develop his likes and dislikes. Oh, one surprisingly intense dislike? SpaghettiOs! What kid doesn't like spaghettiOs? Good thing Mommy and Daddy will happily finish them off for him!
