Gratitude Journal

I realized this morning that I have not had an edition of the Gratitude Journal for a few days. The great thing is that even though I have not typed anything out, I have absolutely been seeing and feeling gratitude everywhere. Oh, how not listening to the news will help a person gain some peace!

The last few days it is truly the little things that seem to fill me up. I know I make it pretty clear that Mark and Milo bring me great joy every day but some days the littlest unexpected things add to the brightness of my day. Today I am going to honor those little things that help me to feel the joy and the beauty inherent in the wide wide world.

Today I am grateful for:
  • The two little bunnies that I saw yesterday when walking up to my study group. They watched me intently but did not run away.
  • Watching Milo notice a bird in our backyard for the first time the other day (keep in mind we have no trees in the backyard yet so birds are a relatively rare occurrence). He became so still... for a minute until he ran over to it and it flew away.
  • The beautiful view when leaving the house this morning. The sun was just coming up and it was a little bit foggy. We have a ranch directly next to our neighborhood and the sun was hitting the fog and the trees in such a pretty way. I have never seen it with those eyes before.
  • Feeling a cool breeze when I let the dogs out before bed last night. The stars were so bright and, seriously, it is August... there aren't many cool breezes to be had.
  • Along those same lines - the little bit of rain and associated clouds we have had the last few days. It has been awesome.
  • Finally, the last few days of summer vacation traffic (meaning less cars on the road during rush hour). Wait, maybe that is why I feel more peaceful!
