Top of the list for a reason... Nothing I can say without giving it away. Amazing book for anyone, whether they like Sci Fi or not!

2 Dune, Frank Herbert

Read as a teenager, Definitely need to read again though

3 Foundation, Isaac Asimov

Not as good as I hoped it would be. Interesting take on religion and culture / society though.

4 Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams

Read a few years ago... funny!

7 Fahrenheit 451

Amazing! About book burning but more importantly, about how words and thinking and the dangers of a future society without either.

8 2001: A Space Odyssey, Arthur C. Clarke

Spellbinding story about discovering life on other planets and humanity's next evolutionary step. Loved it!

15 Hyperion, Dan Simmons

Loved it, loved it, loved it!! This first book in the series embodies exactly why I love Science Fiction. New worlds, interesting characters, beautiful in every possible way.

22 The Martian Chronicles, Ray Bradbury

Story of man's travel to Mars. Cautionary tale about how we can endanger more than our own planet. Good stuff.

25 The Mote in God's Eye, Niven & Pournelle

Wonderful story about how different an alien race can be.

27 Speaker for the Dead, Orson Scott Card

Sequel to Ender's Game. Amazing in a completely different way.

28 Jurassic Park, Michael Crichton

Seriously? Who hasn't read this one?

35 A Wrinkle in Time, Madeleine L'Engle

The genesis of my Sci Fi love. The only book I have ever re-read.

36 Andromeda Strain, Michael Crichton

I know I have read it but don't actually recall the storyline...

39 Contact, Carl Sagan

Read it, loved it, may try to read it again!

57 Ender's Shadow, Orson Scott Card

Loved them all! Even the sequels of the sequels.

The book was so much better than the movie!
