Our Pup

We have always been dog people but my goodness, this little guy made his way into our hearts in record time. I mean seriously? Look at that sweet face!

The first night we brought Scout home Milo did not want him to be lonely while he ate. It was a one night thing though... our little guy hasn't been so concerned about the puppy since.

He was a "little bit" for a week or so but he has been growing exponentially since. He has already almost outgrown his starter crate. We knew it wouldn't be long term but didn't quite anticipate a two week usable life! One of these days it will be hard to remember when he was so tiny.

We get this a lot. They aren't lying when they say Golden Retrievers ALWAYS have to have something in their mouths. This pup is constantly chewing on something. The good thing is that he is a fast learner and the breeder gave us the tip off on how to curb the biting. It is not 100% effective but it is pretty darn close. Of course, at the moment Milo is his favorite chew toy which doesn't really go over that well with Milo.

This is Scout's favorite sleeping spot. At his growth rate I project that he is too big to squeeze under there in approximately one week.

Just look at that face...

We try to keep him in the room with us at all times to avoid puppy catastrophes. In fact, up until a few days ago, we went out and walked him outside every time he went out. The first time I let him out without me this is what I found when I came to get him. Cracked me up! I don't know how he even got into this state but by the time I got there he had totally given up trying to get free and was just sitting there. Poor thing.

The whole "Milo as a chew toy thing" means that Milo and Scout have an on / off relationship. This is an "on" moment... at least for Milo. Despite the puppy nips and Milo tears going on we know they are going to be great friends one day. We can already see glimpses of it now (they are definitely just glimpses though!) Nevertheless, we love our pup!
