Can't Win Situation

This afternoon I saw an article on MSN linked from Newsweek titled "Does He Have What It Takes? Establishment is Beginning to Doubt Obama." I was just as disgusted with the article after reading it as I was at simply seeing the title. It just made me realize what an unbelievable challenge Obama has. He truly can't win. The article talks about how the "establishment" now thinks that the stimulus package was too small. I would be willing to bet this is the same "establishment" that was saying two weeks ago that Obama was insane for pushing such a large amount. The article talks about how the mortgage solution is confusing. Uh, yeah... Of course it is confusing. It is such a complex situation I don't know how they would handle it without it being confusing.

It talks about how he is unwilling to nationalize banks. Interestingly, I just read yesterday how many politicians are criticizing him for coming too close to nationalizing banks. The list goes on and on. I don't agree with everything he is doing but as my Grandma Pat has said, "I voted for him which means I trust he is making the best decisions he can and I will support him for now."

I have absolute respect for people that don't agree with his policies. Everyone has a right to disagree. However, I believe completely that he is doing the best he can in an incredibly difficult situation. He is working through unprecedented problems and I think we owe him some respect and at least a little bit of time (meaning more than 2 months) to try. There is no quick fix to what is going on right now. I think people like the guy that wrote this article are naive and a little irresponsible if they think Obama can just snap his fingers and fix anything. My final thought is to wonder exactly who this "establishment" is that he is talking about. You think they might be the people at the top of the food chain who largely got us into a lot of this trouble to begin with?
