Big Boy Room

Our sweet boy has been in the same room since he was born. It has not really been what I would call a nursery lately but... other than the twin bed and the bookshelf there haven't been too many changes from when he first moved in. If you want to see some of the original pics of the room (along with a precious little one-week-old Milo) click here.

Needless to say, we felt like it was high time for our 4 1/2 year-old to move up in the world and get a little more space. Milo's new room started as one of our guest rooms. As you can see, we never really spent too much time decorating in there. That was definitely about to change!

And here is a shot of the same angle of the same room! Of course, we are missing a few things (art, the 2nd curtain, etc.) but for the most part it is done. Woohoo! Yep, that is a chalkboard. So far I think Mark and I have had more fun with it than Milo but he has time to grow into it.

Sorry the pictures are a little dark. If I wait to take better pictures though it is possible they will never get posted. Maybe I will be motivated when we are 100% done and will put up some final pics for you to see!

I will be the first to admit that this felt like the never-ending project. It could have been that said 4 1/2 year-old felt like it was his room and he wanted to help EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. Between Milo and Scout tracking paint all over the house, Milo climbing to the tippy-top of every ladder in sight and us having to repaint things that we had already finished (a few times), etc. it was a REALLY long two weekends. We couldn't be happier with the end result though. It is a fun, happy room for our fun, happy little boy!

One cute, final story - It took us forever to find the bedding. When we finally found the number duvet (at IKEA of course) Milo's eyes lit up and he said, "but Mommy! I LOVE numbers!" and his big boy room was born!
