We have always heard that Gaylord's ICE is truly something to see so the day after Thanksgiving, the whole family set out to see if it was worth all the hype.
I have to say we were pretty amazed as soon as we walked in the door - way before we even got to the show. The Gaylord is huge! We had no idea.
You know us! Our first thought? PHOTO OP!
We went to lunch by the
riverwalk and then ended up running to make it in time for the beginning of our show. It was like 2 miles! Seriously. Did I mention that the Gaylord is HUGE? And that we had 4 boys in tow? OK, well we had one boy in tow and Sarah and Greg had 3, but still!
If we had known how much waiting we were about to do we probably would not have hightailed it quite that fast.
We waited in one line. (Granted, we did have some cool decorations to look at...)
And then we waited in another line.
And just when we thought we were done, we got to wait in another line.
All the boys did so good!
Holden was a good distraction. That kid is seriously like a little walking ray of sunshine!
Doesn't Milo look so big here? He shows that "baby" side less and less often now. I adore watching him grow. Thinking about him fills my heart with love.
We finally got to queue up for our blue coats and knew we were finally getting close.
Oh, just kidding! We had one more (long) line to wait in and this one was REALLY REALLY cold! Look at Milo's face below. This is his "I am done" face.
Ah, just in the nick of time, we are in! See the joy emanating from my boys?
It is literally 12 degrees inside but it really is cool (
hahaha, no pun intended!). Charley Brown was neat but I think these trees were my favorite.
All the boys played on the slide (which I unfortunately did not get a good picture of), we all froze our
tushies off and we (unsuccessfully) tried to keep track of each other in our matching blue coats. We did lose Griffin for a little while but found him quickly enough (thank heavens!)
Despite the long lines and the chilly temps, it was an amazing adventure! We had such a fun time and little and big alike enjoyed the day! We look forward to going back to check out the Gaylord again. Definitely worth the hype!
